Located in Alexandria, MN, Solar Skies Mfg., LLC was established in 2006 to manufacture solar thermal collectors for commercial and residential use. Solar Skies actually began in 2003, when local entrepreneur and CEO of Solar Skies, Randy Hagen, developed, manufactured and sold a powered device for ventilating aircraft. With his growing interest in solar and the demand for cost-effective renewable energy products on the rise, Randy was convinced that more people would realize the economic advantages of solar power systems.
Today at the Solar Skies’ 44,000 sq. ft. facility, a full product line of solar thermal flat-plate collectors and mounting hardware are manufactured and sold. The popular SS and NSC series solar collectors are available in a number of sizes and a wide range of options in order to meet the demands of each customer’s needs. The collectors are designed to provide an efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly renewable energy resource that are SRCC OG100, CSA, USEC and FSEC certified.
Along with manufacturing premium solar thermal collectors, Solar Skies is committed to providing quality solutions for the solar thermal industry by offering the convenience of complete solar hot water systems for both residential and commercial use. Solar Skies has a full line of solar hot water tanks such as glass-line, stainless steel, large volume and drain back tanks, not to mention a complete line of components for installation. Solar Skies offers 35 complete solar water heating systems that have received the OG 300 certification which is based on the successful design review and analytical evaluation of components meeting the standards specified by SRCC.
